It's been quite a while since the August 2010 article I wrote on AG Sano. Less than a year later, the environmental hero finally got the recognition he deserves. The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) named the painter and dolphin crusader the latest WWF Hero.
AG Sano became famous for painting dolphin murals on walls all across the Philippines. His advocacy, the protection of dolphins from being slaughtered and traded. The artist has painted over 23,000 dolphins already, in response to the same number of dolphins killed yearly in Japan's town of Taiji.

If you haven't watched the heartbreaking documentary, you should definitely get a copy of The Cove - the film which inspired this individual to actively campaign for dolphin welfare.
Let's hope AG Sano's receiving this award will inspire others to continue fighting for animal rights and environmental protection throughout our world.
